"Your instincts could not have been better in encouraging me to meet with my consultant and keep an open mind.

The time I spent working with him turned out to be one of the most valuable personal and professional growth experiences of my career (I have to admit it was also fun). Thanks again for giving me the nudge I needed to get started."

Success Stories for Individuals

Since 1982, Keystone Associates has partnered with thousands of individuals to help them conduct the kind of thoughtful self-assessment that leads to positive new beginnings and career growth. Their success is a testament to our success. Here are some of their stories.

You showed astute judgment and insight when you paired me with my consultant. She and I “hit it off” immediately and I always looked forward to coming to my meetings with her. She also proved to be an excellent trainer in the Interviewing workshop. What I appreciated most about my consultant, however, was her creativity and willingness to think outside the proverbial box. My background is far from traditional, and I had difficulty myself in trying to figure out what direction to point myself in, from all the places that I’ve been in my career. In order to overcome that, she devised a unique “system” that involved starting with a blank flip chart, onto which we placed lots of post-it notes where I had written all of the jobs and/or projects I had been involved in throughout my career as a worker and non-profit volunteer. It was my consultant who began to see “patterns” and from there, we were able to start to find direction. The net result was not only a well-designed resume, but more importantly, a new focus for my life and work. I would recommend Keystone to anyone in need of intelligent, intuitive and thoughtful career transition services.

I truly believe that I would not have attained my new job if it were not for the help of Keystone Associates, and in particular, my consultant. He guided me through one of the most difficult times in my life.  He re-built my self-esteem, thoroughly prepared me for the whole interview process, and became my friend. He also taught me the importance of finding a job that is a good balance with the rest of my life. I would highly recommend Keystone Associates as career management consultants.  The lessons that my consultant and the rest of the staff at Keystone have taught me I plan to remember for the rest of my life.

I just wanted to let you know that I consider my consultant outstanding. I recently left my employer and was offered Keystone’s services. I met with my consultant soon after. Each time she made me feel very positive and confident. At first I was reluctant to meet with any of the consultants at your office because I felt a little depressed about being laid off. It took a lot of courage for me to come to your office because I knew it meant accepting that I had to start dealing with this big change in my life. Meeting with my consultant was the first step I took to dealing with my situation and to start searching for a new job. My consultant was very professional. She made me feel very comfortable and gave me a lot of great advice on interviewing and resume writing. I appreciated how informative and kind she was to me during this time of my life.

The hands-on counseling and the discovery of unveiling my goal of creating my own enterprise were invaluable aspects of my program. I went in thinking that I wanted a traditional job and my consultant helped me see otherwise. Thank you for enlightening my search and for assisting me with launching my new business. I could not be happier with where I have landed. I feel I have a great foundation on which to grow and some excellent tools to refer to.

My consultant is a tremendously gifted professional. He turned my job hunting experience from a negative experience to an empowering one. His guidance was invaluable to me. I wanted to translate my skills to a new career and didn’t know how to do that. He helped me to focus and go after a new career.

You must have one of the best-balanced staffs in town. Whether at reception, a workshop, or counseling session, the experience was professional but not cold; smooth, not hurried; and despite what could have been an environment of angst, your offices and workspaces felt welcoming and encouraging. Bravo!

My consultant was one of the best counselors I have ever met. Regardless of the time of day that we met, she was “on.” Quite beyond my expectations of professional knowledge and methods, I felt genuinely “heard” and understood, making the process completely useful, personal and productive. Most importantly, though she would hate the term, she “read me well,” sensing when I was either panicked or elated, depending on the day.

I was very nervous, resistant and closed to sharing my feelings and thoughts. My consultant very professionally melted her way right through so she could help me re-build my confidence, practice some new skills and polish some old ones.

At the time I left my former employer, I was not planning on taking advantage of Keystone’s services.  It was only at the urging of my former company’s human resources director and the Keystone consultant I met at the time of my layoff, that I made the initial contact. Your instincts could not have been better in encouraging me to meet with my consultant and keep an open mind. The eight weeks that I spent working with him turned out to be one of the most valuable personal and professional growth experiences of my career (I have to admit it was also fun). His personality and background were a perfect match for my situation.  My challenge now is to execute the plans he helped me develop. Thanks again for giving me the nudge I needed to get started.

I arrived at Keystone in a disjointed state of disappointment, uncertain about many aspects of my professional life, particularly my experience at my former company. I was able to take full advantage of the services offered by Keystone, including discussions and evaluations about so many matters pertinent to the process of securing another position, tutoring on the fine art of resume writing, interview preparation and follow-up, administrative and phone support, to name but several. The support staff were helpful and patient, each and every day.

From the moment I walked through the door I felt at home. The kindness and professionalism shown was stellar. And what would I have ever done without the support staff whose assistance and kindness were greatly appreciated.

Keystone’s career transition services deserve a great deal of the credit for my successful search. Every single interaction that I had with all of you was handled professionally and in a very upbeat fashion. I can’t tell you how helpful your collective energy is to someone who is in the throes of trying to redirect his career.

The last few months have been the (sometimes-not-so) patient assembly of a jigsaw puzzle for which I had a box of pieces but initially no sense of the image’s size, shape, color or completeness. I did not even know how many images – if any – were inside. I came to Keystone with the puzzle box tucked gingerly under my arm. Now I leave with a new picture to focus on for the next stage of my career. I want to thank everyone at Keystone for helping me discover which of the old pieces still fit, create and find new ones, and build this new picture to take with me.
